I quite like competitions, offers and deals, especially when their barrier for entry is as low as “Be one of the first on this site, at this time, and fill in a form”. When i heard NASA was running such a competition for VIP seats to see the next shuttle launch, i jumped at it. All you had to do was be following them on twitter, fill in the form and submit it: The original competition page

Imagine my surprise when i saw this email last night:
“Congratulations! You were one of the first people to register to attend the NASA Tweetup in conjunction with the launch of space shuttle Atlantis on the STS-129 mission.”
…
Eep!
Currently i am going through clearance. Not being a US citizen means i will need it before entering certain parts of Kennedy Space Center… fingers crossed! Have to pay for my own flights and hotel though :s
Launch date is currently Nov 16th.
*Well it’s a shuttle, so it’s not going to the moon, it’s going to the ISS. Also, i am not going on it, i am (hopefully!) watching it take off.
